Wilpattu is Sri Lanka’s largest national park and is characterised by its distinctive villus, or natural lakes, surrounded by dense dry-zone forests. Compared with Yala, Wilpattu often provides a quieter and more wilderness-focused safari experience, with opportunities to encounter leopards, elephants, sloth bears and diverse birdlife.
